My Insurance Nightmare

I purchased car insurance after getting a cheap quote from a low priced auto insurance company. It was a great deal and I got everything I needed that my current auto insurance provided including lower deductibles for less money with the cheap insurance.
Then I called and canceled my insurance agent and canceled my current policy.
Okay, so, it is all done, right.  Well, not so fast there buddy. The next month this so called reputable auto insurance company with a big house hold name took money out of my checking account through their auto deducting payment program.  I called and said the policy was canceled. They said that they never got the call. So, after 30 minutes of faxing back and forth I got them to cancel. 60 days later I got a check in the mail.  Bottom line: When you sign up for a new auto insurance policy make sure the old insurance policy is canceled. Has anything like this happened to you? Tell me your story.
