Parental Consent

DFPC

Dear Parents,

In Delaware, doctors can perform an abortion procedure on girls as young as 16 without a parents knowledge or consent. This is wrong.

Introducing HB 80: Parental Consent for Minors Seeking Abortions.

DFPC is working with pro-life allies to pass legislation requiring doctors to receive consent from parents before performing abortions on girls 18 years or younger.

Consent is required for children under 18 to use a tanning bed; but children as young as 16 can get an evasive abortion procedure without telling mom and dad. HB 80 is a common sense bill.

To safeguard our children and pass this legislation all we need to do is simply ask for it. Please engage in the 5-minute action alert below

Call your Legislator, and then email the Legislators on the target list. These legislators need to vote HB 80 out of committee. These calls and emails are critical because they are literally counted. We expect a committee hearing soon. Pray with us that this bill makes it through the committee process.

Deliver this simple message:

"Please vote YES on HB 80. Delaware has the weakest parental notification bill in the 50 states! The current law only applies to girls 15 and under. HB 80 is a common sense bill and a smart solution for an urgent and important problem. Please vote YES on HB 80."

Why Do We Need HB 80?

Doctors can perform an abortion procedure on girls as young as 16 without parental consent.

Delaware has the highest per capita abortion rate in the country.

46% of abortions are performed on out-of-state women. They come because their state has strong parental consent laws.

3,000 abortions per year could be avoided by introducing a strong parental consent law.

African-American women are victimized by abortion at three times the rate of white women.

1. Call Your State Representative

2. Email these legislators. Urge them to vote YES on HB 80.
